Default Hey all!

Hey all! I am new here as you could guess haha. I was wondering... If I have no experience whatsoever with cars, but I want to learn how to fix up and run, what would be a good car to get? I have read that the 240 is a great car that is very reliable and cheap and easy. Should I be looking around the $1000 range in Connecticut?
