Default Hi and Help!! S60 With Airbag Service Mes.

Great site. First time post as I have my first problem in 2 yrs ownership of a 2001 S60 T5 (136000K). The SRS Urgent Service Req message and warning symbol are on and after visiting dealership this morning they cannot access the onboard computer. They want to book it in for a longer investigation...sounds pricey. I have serviced the car via a local independant but he hasn't the electonical wizardary req. Any ideas how I can get rid of the pesky light/message without spending any dough? Many thanks. (i live in Solihull West Mids if anyone knows a local specialist with the kit).

It will be best to have the dealer look at it.There may be a diffrent computer on the network that is bad causing the light to come on.It may lead to more problems if not addressed.

It just needed resetting. Comm problem was a worn out battery. Dealer said that reset would not work without replacing the battery. New battery from dealer £50.
Heres to the next 136,000 miles. (Can anyone beat that on a S60 T5?)

I wish I had know about the low battery in the first place.I would have suggested that.
When the battery goes dead on these cars the computers go wacky!!!
