hi, new S40 owner
Just made a deal on a 2006 S40; haven't taken delivery yet, waiting for insurance check from my accident to pay for car.... just a few more days. The car itself is stunningly new looking inside and out, really tough to believe it's 7 years old with 114k miles, and drives like brand new too (ok, maybe I wouldn't know how it drove brand new, but I can't imagine how it could have seemed any newer then!).
Sayin' hi like the forum told me to...

took a few days longer than planned, but finally took delivery on Wednesday. Here's a couple of photos.
goodies you can't see in the photo:
- sunroof
- premium dolby surround sound audio w/in-dash 6-cd changer (but no MP3 capability, oh so sad)
- "wood" center console and door moldings
It seems like it might have been a custom order originally, because it has an odd mix of features. It has the 17" sport package wheels and certainly seems to have the sport suspension (any way to tell for sure beyond my impression of the ride?), but doesn't have the fog lights that were part of the Sport Package; I think the rear wing also would ordinarily only have been only installed with the sport package. on the interior, it seems to have everything that was supposed to be in the Select Package, except instead of leather it has the standard cloth seats which I REALLY like. (of course the documentation I have on what the packages included could just be wrong)
Found out from the carfax report that I'm the 5th owner which at first alarmed me, but then I saw it's been serviced quite religiously at a nearby Volvo dealer. The first owner only had it for 1 year, looked like a 1 year lease. Next guy had it for only 6 months, no idea why so short. 3rd & 4th owners had it for the bulk of the time, both purchased it from and had it serviced at the same Volvo dealer. That fact that it was frequently reconditioned and sold at Volvo dealers might explain why it's in such good shape... plus no one had it long enough to get bored with it and start neglecting it.
