Figured that would get your attention. My wife owns a '96 960 Wagon which she loves. It has 223000 miles on it and needs $250 exhaust work and the A/C doesn't work. She must have an A/C. She just came across a 2001 V70xc Wagon with 146000 miles. It looks nice. It's a private sale and the guy wants $8500. I think that's a lot. From what I've read that year and model is really a piece of crap that even Volvo is ahsamed of. I think she should put a $1000 into the 960 and drive it into the ground. She really wants this V70 so I'm asking you guys for help because I am reallynot a Volvo fan. I think they are truly over rated. Maybe if she could get it for $6500 that would be a different story. MY WIFE NEEDS HELP.....PLEASE!!!!! I just can't get myself to tell her to buy a Volvo. With that said, I own a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado with 120000 miles. OK OK OK I know it probably will never see 223000 miles. HELP HELP HELP. SHE NEEDS YOUR ADVICE. (Also posted this to the V70 forum in hopes of answer)

 

Tough call.
Your 960 is worth ZIP so any money investedis wasted money.
That being said, a 2001 is THE worst year Volvo you could buy. A 1st year model plaqued with issues not to mention most of the transmissions fail
If you live on the (north) East coast I can get you an 02 close to that price with WAY less miles.

- SAAB
- BMW
- AUDI
- LEXUS
