I know about the S80 electronic problems, I have replaced a lot of things on my 2000 S80 T6 and it has been doing great except today. All of a sudden the ABS light, SRS lights came on alonge with the signal lights and windows (except drivers) stopped working all at the same time. Keep in mind, I had my ABS module reparied by Victor a year ago, had the SRS module replaced by the dealer about 6 months ago ($350.00) and now these two lights have come for no reason. I bought a Delco battery about 6 months ago and had to charge it this weekend like something is draining it, maybe the alternator?? Would a dead or dying alternator cause this electrical mysteries?? Does anyone have any clues or suggetions? TIA.

 

I've had the blinkers go out in an identical fashion to what you are describing. The dealership loaded software for me and that resolved the issue. As far as the alternator question you had, I have no idea, but tech probably will have an answer for you.

 

Yes low Voltage will make all the Lights come on and set all kinds of codes in the systems.

 

I would have someone load test the alternator to ensure that it's producing the proper amount of current.

 

I just had to replace my battery after several attempts to jump start the car. By the way I have found if you do anything to a Volvo expect something in return. I had the roof open, jumped the car off and headed to work. A little while later the sky opened up and I discovered my roof not working, along with door locks, lights, or homelink. I didn't panic thinking I could just close it manually, NOT Possible. Calls to Volvo HQ no help, they transferred my some how to Honda CS. I tried a dealer who had my turn the car off. Back on but not enough to start the engine. Press the remote lock and unlock button off and on several times. Switch back off then started the car. Everything worked again. I don't know if this will help but try it.
