i sensor lights on dashboard
I have a 2011 S60 T6 AWD. I have 92,300 miles on the vehicle. After a 90 mile drive with an average driving speed of 70mph, I see an "i" sensor light on the dashboard. It has a bulb icon and says low beam. I stop at a Volvo dealer and he tries to replicate the problem to see which low beam needs to be replaced. In a couple of seconds, the bulb dims and goes out so we know it is the left front bulb to the tune of $213.00 for the part which they did not have in stock. It is a hd bulb that moves, etc etc. I opt to order the bulb locally and drive home, the bulb icon staring me in the face the entire 90 miles. That was Friday afternoon. The bulb is now working and on while I drive locally...no scary icon. I went to a local foreign car repair service today Tuesday to see why the bulb was still working, but not after a longer distance. They took out the bulb in question and showed me that the tip of bulb was broken off...even though it still was working for short periods The same bulb still cost $178.00...but the problem is solved. I am glad I was persistent as both this repair place and the Volvo dealership said if it isn't broken, don't fix it. I asked the repair place to test the bulb in question, check the connections, the ballast, and in 5 minutes the problem was diagnosed. I had to wait a few hours to get the part (they sent the wrong part first) but saved 35 on the part...I am glad it is resolved.
