I have just bought a Volvo S40 2.0D powershift on Friday 30/01/09, so I decided to join the forum.

That's what they say! I am on my first Volvo Myself. Congrats.! on the new purchase and Welcome aboard.

 

For me it is true, but I had to learn it the hard way. I bought my first Volvo, a DL 245, in 1981 and had it for six years. After that, I owned a long series of other luxury cars, including Audi, Lexus, and BMW, and finally found my way back to Volvo again. I don't regret having sampled a lot of other very good high-end cars, but I finally decided that a Volvo was just the best fit, not only for my driving needs but also for my personality. I now have a 2007 V50 and a 2008 S40 and am already thinking ahead to sampling some of the other Volvo models the next time around.
