We bought our first Volvo (Oley) 1971 144 in 1972. We owned it until 1983 when it had about 150,000 miles and our daughter was in an accident in CA and totaled the car. We currently own a 1989 740 turbo with a stick shift that we bought new in 1989. It currently has 205,000 miles and is also named Oley. We also have a 1993 245 with 123,000 miles and it is in very good condition. It is named Larsson. Our 1997 960 (Ingvar) has 130,000 miles. We bought Larsson in 2001 with 60,000 miles from the original owner. Ingvar joined our family in 2006 with 72,000 miles. He spent the first years in Houston, TX. At one time our family, including our two daughters owned a total of 7 Volvos. Each daughter still has one. We live in Western MI, one daughter is in AZ and the other in CA. I just recently discovered this Forum and I am looking forward to using advice from other members to keep my little fleet on the road.
