Moving from SAABs
Our 40 year relationship with SAAB has come to an end, during which time we have had at least one in the garage. If you read the papers, you know why. As we are also fans of station wagons, we're coming to most other makes at a bad time, since wagons are disappearing left and right.
Volvo is a front-runner in our move to a new vehicle, as well as Mercedes, VW, and Subaru. I am hoping to get good information from people who have real experience with Volvo.
Having driven and enjoyed the SAAB 9-5 for the past 11 years, we are particularly interested in the Volvo S80 or possibly the S60.

Having owned MB and BMW wagons here are two cents.
If you owned a SAAB you will be disappointed with the way Volvo Drives.
I have test driven SAABs in the past and love the way they drive.
MB and BMW (Older BMW) would make best option for you. I just test drove Volvo XC 70 and MB wagon and i am sold on MB.

Also, aren't MB wagons on the soft side too?
Welcome to Volvo!
I also have a couple of Saabs, inc. a 9-5 wagon, and while it cruises great, I'd take my '94 940T wagon over it any time... They are just different animals, the 9-5 is sleeker, more modern, much more problematic, FWD, the 940, well, I just think it's the best car ever made... As far as leaving Saab, you really don't have to, as parts/service will be available for the next 25yrs, well, as long as that 2012 "end of the world" thing doesn't happen.

We still own 2003 BMW 325 xiT wagon and love it. Unfortunately 2006 leased wagon did not live up to 2003 standards ( returning it was the best day )
Agree with with statement Subaru Outback is a nice wagon ( similar to Volvo but less luxury )
