You'll need to first figure out where it's coming from. Which module that is. Most likely not a battery or charging issue if your battery is charged everyday, engine cranks, and car starts with ease.

Having any hard starts?

The thing is, hard SRS MIL indicators come back immediately after deletion. Yours doesn't right? It stays deleted for a time?

IF yes, you'll either have a bad SRS module, faulty wiring, or it still may be a charging issue.

Any way you look at it, it's an intermittent issue, which can be difficult to pinpoint on engine codes, but an SRS code should be straight forward most of the time.

Yeah, yesterday i tried placing my hand on the passenger seat and applying very light pressure while driving. The passenger seat belt sign comes on..but no SRS airbag light yet. Also because i carry stuff for my work, i've laid all the back seats flat, covered them and placed plastic containers full of stuff on top. Wonder if that could be an issue.

Yeah, if you put anything on the seat, belt it in. It'll take care of the light and it's more safe in the event of hard braking.

It's fantastic for live data reading, service resets, all systems scans, it's wireless, and you get free lifetime updates. I got it on sale last year for $330. It works with all Volvos even the 96-2000 years. I don't know the cost now. Check on Amazon.

Hi Mark, yeah I bought it and been using it quite often as I still have the SRS airbag service urgent light come up accompanied by instrument cluster shut down and loss of some functions like windows and volume control.

Have you any clue as to why this issue continues to plague your Volvo?

Is that the sequence? SRS, cluster, volume, then Windows? Or does it vary? Does it seem to happen only when it's raining? Have you identified all your interior grounding locations?

Hey Nate how you doin'? Well this is what Ive been finding out. This happens almost every time I go around a roundabout at fairly normal speed .. In other words I'd be turning right either around a roundabout or at the lights. At the same time, I would notice the ABS, DTSC and Airbag lights flash on the bottom right corner of the cluster. Then I would notice a clicking sound coming from under the steering column at knee level. The SRS Airbag Service Urgent light would come on. And after an additional few minutes of driving, the whole cluster would shut itself down. The clicking sound would continue until I get home. The windows would stop working and Ive also noticed a few times that the radio keeps on playing even after turning the car off and taking the key out. I would have to restart the car and turning it off again for the radio to switch itself off. If I wait a few minutes, and restart the car, the cluster comes alive again until I drive the car and make another tight right turn. But if I take it real easy (slower than normal) when making those right turns, I wouldnt get the symptoms described above. The only thing that would remain was the SRS Airbag Service Urgent light..until I cleared it.

I'm doing well, thank you. Sounds like you have a failed clock spring. Seeing how the problem arises when you make tight rights.

Likely some wires pinched within the clock spring/steering wheel/airbag assembly. You also have volume and radio controls on the steering wheel, so that checks out.

Not sure about the window though... If you're looking to DIY and keep it cheap, you'll need to visit the salvage yard. If you have to remove and replace the unit that is.

FIrst, can you send me the specific codes, and I'll research them. This is the kind of issue that's a car killer, or can blow up in your face. Literally.

Okay, so you have module communication issues, which means you have a bad module or wiring issues somewhere.

The goal is to figure out what all those modules listed have in common. This can be a blown fuse, or a ground wire. If it's clear that there is no blown fuse, and all your grounds for these modules check out, then it's to the wiring diagrams. You'll also need some service info so you know what voltages you need to see when checking each the modules pinouts.

You'll want to start with the first code and it's corresponding module. In your case, the abs module . You'll need back probes a multimeter too.

The easiest, and honestly best option is to take it to a shop. Drop the car off at night with a note. In the note say you'll Pay for one hour of diagnosis + if they need it, another $500 to work with for additional time or repair parts It doesn't have to be $500, just what you're comfortable with.

But also tell them, if they need more diagnostic time, or the repair costs more than $500 to give you a call you to discuss.

One more thing; if the tech calls a bad module, get a written letter from the service advisor that if it doesn't fix the issue, you're not on the hook to pay for the part or labor. So many times techs diagnose modules that aren't bad.

I also tried checking your vin for service recalls on two different sites. Both sites said that was an invalid vin

Hi Nate, it does seem like wiring or module..the strange thing is i can drive for days and nothing happens. Then if i take a right turn too quick and too tight...it happens.
