Default My intro. new S70 owner

My names John, and I'm a long time VW enthusiast. Had a 06 Mini Cooper S and decided to get something bigger and easier on the wallet. So I went with a 2000 S70 GLT. So far I'm really enjoying it.

Only issue I have so far is a squeeky brake pad, other than that all is well.

Yeah I like the wrapped wheel, prev. owner did a nice job. One thing I've realized is Volvos are not cheap to mod. $700 for an ecu upgrade, yikes...

Your right they are not cheap to upgrade.

However you can get a few ECU upgrades for under $500.

If you look at the Website thread I PINNED in the General Volvo section you will see.

Upsolute, $425 about
SpeedTuning USA, $325 about
Inmotion, $200-$400 about

IPD, RICA, BSR are the exspensive ones. And they are more researched and tested then the other ones. Not saying the other ones are not good. They have their spot.

Nice choice John. I've had two so far. Sold my green 1998 GLT and kept the grey 2000 with base engine. Truly lovely cars. Absolutely no rust on a 23 year old car which is absolutely incredible! Unfortunately she got totaled a few days ago but felt indestructible. Happy motoring. Looking for another as we speak
