Default New from California

Hello, my name is Oscar and I'm new here. I've read a couple of posts here about my car in the past that have helped a lot. I have a few problems with my vehicle that I've been able to diagnose and fix from help on YouTube with Robert along with this forum and Google researching. I don't know much about cars but I'm trying to learn what I can. I've lost 2 cars in the past due to improper maintenance and recently bought a Volvo about 6-7 months ago. From what I've researched and experienced, it really is a good and easy car to learn proper routine maintenance and work on myself at times. I've done an ac belt replacement (215.5k, due to failure), thermostat (the coolant afterboiled at the same time of ac belt failure and thought this is a good fix to help monitor engine heat), and an o2 sensor (216k, due to check engine light) replacement on my own so far. I've had it taken to mechanics for a transmission fluid system and filter service (216.5k, due to a leaking line and loss of trans fluid on multiple occasions), oil change and oil filter service (every 3.5k miles, due to a small unknown leak), and 2 new tires for now. From all of this, I've really come to love how reliable this old Volvo is. I'm the 3rd owner and this is my 3rd car and also the one I've owned for the longest. This old beauty isn't just my daily driver, it's also my home because I currently live comfortably in the back of this wagon. I really love this car and would like to get it to run and look like it did 30 years ago as much as I possibly can. I work with the previous owner who has owned it for the last 15 or so years so he's also a good source of information. If one day this engine or tranny fails, I hope to learn enough or save enough to do a v8 swap. Haha. Anyways, that was a bit about myself and my story with my Volvo. I hope I get to meet new people here and get a chance to soak up all the info! Thanks in advance for any future help on any of my posts!
