New Guy, Gonna buy a Volvo ($10,000 max)
Hello, and its great to find this forum. I'm planning to buy a pre-owned Volvo wagon this month, with my maximum price being $10,000. Prelim searching looks hopeful, and I see a good number of potentials in New England, mostly 2002-2004 with 85,000-115,000 miles.
Any strong opinions on V70 vs XC70? Is there much that's different beyond the AWD? AWD sounds great, but am I looking at upcoming expensive repairs on a car of this vintage? I'm an experienced winter driver, so front wheel drive would work for me. Am I missing out on anything else unique to the XC70?
Thanks, and sorry in advance if my question has been previously discussed. I did a quick search but didn't see anything.

Welcome!
Idk.. the 2001-2005 with AWD had turbo-5cyl engines and I know a lot of them esp. the XC70 and XC90 had issues or were part of related issues like tranny issues. Maybe its not exactly the engine but from what ive seen, the high mileage turbos are very problematic or so ive heard.
I would look at non-turbos V70? Or the V8 XC90?
