Smile New member - 240 owner - saying hi.

Hi everyone - I've just joined so I thought maybe best to introduce myself.
Have been driving a 1989 240 GL (2.3L, auto) for about 5 years now, had a 760 Turbo before that, and a 240 DL before that.
I do pretty much all the work on my car as it needs it. Replaced the tailgate support struts a few weeks ago - new ones were cheaper than used ones on e-bay - and I think it is time I confronted the dreaded PCV/breather/flame-trap/oil-separator box and valve. Not that I'm discussing it in this thread, I just wanted to illustrate that I'm a real 'hands on' kinda owner.
So, well, I'm glad to be here. Dunno why I didn't join before.
Oh yeah, my 240 has done 162,000 miles so does it get its bronze high-mileage award ?
Best to all,
Kepla.

Hi Kepla, welcome to the forum.

I don't think your car has the PCV system that the 850's have, just need to keep the flame trap cleaned out.

Hope you get good info here and a lot more miles out of your 240.
