New member and first car
Ok, so for my first car, I actually wanted a 1st generation Volvo V70R...
But what I got was a 1995 Volvo 945 (940 wagon) with a boat load of minor issues.
Story behind the car:
Car was originally purchased in Sweden by a couple that lived in Romania, he was in the military, so this was actually a diplomatic car (CD plate and sticker.) After 8 years, they sent it to their son who lives the next county over from me, I saw it on craigslist and sent it to my mom jokingly as a birthday request (she had said she wasn't going to buy me a car) ...little did I know, she had already bought the car when I sent it to her. After I emailed it to her (same day) she was taking me to mow a yard at her boyfriends shop. We then stopped in a lot and it was parked there, it had a sign in the window. It listed a ton of problems, and I looked at my mom (clueless that it was the car I had sent her) and asked "why the hell would they list all the problems before selling?" Then I saw the phone number '540-598-458Happy Birthday' (didn't finish the number)
It didn't occur until then that I had seen this car and that it was mine...I just started laughing. That's the story of my first car.
So far I've rewired the back taillights, new valve cover, heavy duty shock absorbers, IPD front sway bar, a Sony CDX-GT540UI (which was a major paint to install), a Sony Xplod amplifier with 2 12" Dub subwoofers that push 800 watts each.
I'm done typing for now, hope to chat with everybody soon!

That was actually my next plan...I was going to get a turbo from this guy I know for $200...but I don't see the point in putting that on a 200k mile car...though this car is very fun for drifting, as heavy as it is

At that rate it will be a short lived first car. And 200k miles is not a lot for a Volvo, the black one in my sig has 214k and the maroon one has 300k, although it does have a new motor sitting in my garage for it, and both are turbo'd. And unless your car already has a turbo, it will cost you at least what you paid for the car, but probably more.
