Hi everyone. I am a 76 year old Canadian with a history with Volvo's. My first was a '59 544 bought in '64 followed by a '69 144, and a '74 244 (all new), all great cars. I then thought Volvo's were getting too expensive and switched to Japanese cars, ending up with a '98 Mazda 626 in need of replacement. My bank account is flush from forced COVID savings so I think it is time to get a Volvo again. I don't want to spend too much of my son's inheritance so I al looking for recommendations. I have heard bad things about the six cylinder so am concentrating on either a four or five cylinder coupe or "Estate Wagon", probably no newer than maybe an '09 to '14 or so but will consider anything. Like I say, I don't want to break the bank and remember prices in Canada are generally higher than in the US. I want something with maybe 100,000 trouble free KM left in it as at 76 it is getting harder to crawl around under a car doing repairs. I am not in a big rush, I can wait for a good deal but I do want back into the Volvo Owners. Club. I have heard that some year / models have too small a transmission for the engine and some other problems, I just need some guidance around the land mines. Thanks.
