New member, vintage car owner with a J overdrive
Hello Volvo owners!
Hope you don't mind a TR6 guy popping in. Some of us have the 70s version of the Laycock overdrives at the rear of our gearboxes - A and J were the factory versions. I have a J overdrive, very happy with it.
I don't know if this is discussed, or where to post it. I have a question on a part availability for the J overdrive. The overdrive has a service area - a plate on the bottom that houses a filter, and then internal filters behind 2 plugs that screw in. This plate on the bottom - maybe 3 inches wide, by 6 inches long - has a gasket between the plate the overdrive housing. I need a new gasket.
And, I'd like to share some of our overdrive experiences with others here, if that would be helpful.
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to learning more about this great communitiy
