Hey guys!! Two weeks ago my wife and I purchased an 08 S60 2.5T with 31K on it. She's silver with the taupe leather...loaded with everything but nav.
I've always been a GM man, but she talked me into the Volvo. We traded her POS 03 Mitusbishi Eclipse, so this was a huge step up. I've always worked on my own vehicles and my fear with the Volvo is it will require special tools and be too sophisticated for me. I hope you guys can prove me incorrect.
As I said I'm a GM man...currently I own a 95 Camaro that I've had 9 years, it has 230K on it now. I also have a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 that I've put a 3" BL on with 33" Mickey Thompson MTZ's. In the past I've had a 68 Chevelle 468 that went 11.40's in the 1/4 and a 27 Ford Roadster with that same 468 that went 9.40's in the 1/4. Sold out in 2005 due to expense of running it.

I look forward to enjoying and learning about the Volvo. We've already put 1000 miles on it and it's getting 31 mpg...I definately wasn't expecting that.

 

Welcome from another new S60 owner... we pick our 08 up in 2 more days. Yours and ours are similarly equipped; we found this one with 12K miles.

Sounds like you and I have some things in common... different product lines not withstanding
I have some of the same concerns related to doing my own work on this new car.

Welcome fellow S60 owners. Check out the S60 forum. Some of the maintenance and repairs can be done by "shade tree mechanics", though some will need to be done by a reputable shop.

 

New 2001 s60 2.4T owner, bought a Jap import I think, now has 95Kms, trouble with Cam belt, now have trouble with the transmission between 2nd and 3rd, that brought me here - looking for advice and help.
