Default new volvo :93 850 GLT

My 90 240 was recently totaled , and my uncle sold me an 850 that he had bought at an auction a couple months ago. i had joined the forum a few weeks ago for help on my 240, which i loved and was the first car that i ever worked on. The 850 gets better Mpg's than the 240 but also seems more difficult to work on and pricier to maintain...

Welcome to the forum.

The 850 is no more expensive to work on then the 240. I have worked on 240s, 940s, and 850s and they all cost the same to fix as long as you do the work yourself.

It seems pricier to me because of its limited availability . The local junkyard always has about 5-6 240s there which you can use to pick parts from or practice with before messing with your own car. I've never seen an 850 there , or any of the newer Volvos , just 240, 740 and 940s.
