Default new volvo owner

Hi Everybody...I am new to the Volvo world ...I love my car it's a 1998 Volvo V70 wagon..inline 5 auto it's got over 400,000 kms on it and still runs great except at this present time I bought this car from a guy in July who told me this car was ready to go and that there was nothing wrong with it...Well i have recently discovered that the struts in the front are shot, the heatercore is gone(and it's December now kinda important)and the cold spell that we had the other night froze the car..There was no antifreeze in it just water I have had these problems looked after but now the car is overheating...it's acting very weird...When i drive it it will overheat at low rpm"s when i ramp up the rpm"s to 2500 0r higher the temp gauge comes down...Anyone have any ideas????
