Hi there. I just got a '91 Volvo 740. It was owned by a priest for ten years and then his son owned it for a few, and I got it from someone who bought it from them. I wasn't expecting the french fries stuck in between the seats that I can't get out, but I'll get them some day. Overall it didn't look too bad until I got it out of the cold and I got under it. Come to find out one of the transmission mounts is cracked and it needed a whole new driveshaft bearing and housing. I wasn't sure what size bearing, so I got both of them (being told there were only two) and the guy sent me two of the same size! Now it's off the road for a few days while I get the mount welded, as no garages or dealerships would climb under it to see it and I wasn't sure of the exact name of it, but after a week of searching I decided to just get it welded, and the new bearing and housing are in the mail! Can't wait to get it back on the road though. I was babying it for the few days it was on the road since I needed the transportation but didn't want to damage anything else. Can't wait to get in it and not have to do 35 on the highway though! I hope I have it for a while as it already seems to be a nice reliable car. Well worth the two weeks of grief!
