Default happy happy joy joy.. check engine?!?

argh. my 92 745 Turbo just threw its first CEL codes in ages when I was coming home just now.

3-1-2 on #2 and 2-4-1 on #6.

I'm reading that as knock sensor disconnected, and an EGR failure. i'll do the egr mity-vac tests in the morning, its dark out, ditto try and find the knock wire.

I replaced a knock sensor in a brick last year, no biggie. I think you're supposed to torque it to a spec. EGR I dunno. Interesting that the FAQ doesn't indicate the CEL should go on.

not sure I trust the FAQ for California specific stuff like EGR

I know the EGR drill. start engine, mity-vac the egr control hose, and trhe engine should almost stall. use DTM3 on the ignition system and the EGR actuator should pulse.

and, yeah, looks to be sketchy vacuum hose between the EGR control valve and the actuator thing. I need to get some 4.2mm vacuum hose, local store only had american sizes, which were either too small or too big :-/
