Hello to all. I'm a new 1998 Volvo S70 owner. My first. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from this forum. Cheers...

I got a 2000 S70GLT three months ago. It's not just transportation. It's a hobby.

Albeit a spendy hobby.
Hey, while we're at it, let's confuse ourselves about BRAKES !!
Does superb stopping power have its quirks ??
My Mechanic, who does the stuff that I'm not ready to handle competently yet, says that Volvo Brakes in particular, are way more prone to squealing than other vehicles of same classes...."OEM brake pads are the only consistent way to minimize these complaints" that he invariably gets when "better" brake pads are requested.
He freely admits to only moderate experience with Ceramic Pads; it's contrary to his gut telling him that compound softness, or resilience of OEM Pads being Volvo's cure for squeal.
Is it some different change in weight distribution during hard deceleration that brings about more pronounced squeal ?? I've done stranger things than just adding 200# in the trunk to cure other problems.....
Where do I find more without wading through a Google search ?? (I will start a thread).
I'm quite willing to spend 10%, or even 25% more in total cost of full Brake Job to kill the brake dust mess....And I've done my own brake jobs before....
Hey !! How 'bout dem Chevy Citations (we nicknamed them "Titrations" from the apparently iterative Design Process) dat done mixed Metric and SAE parts on the same Caliper Assembly !!!

So, Folks, which Ceramic Brake Pads are best for Volvos ??

I'm very happy with my 98 s70. I've had to do some work but it too is more than a vehicle. It's becoming a hobby.
