Default New to VolvoForums & Volvos

Hi everyone,
I bought a 97 850 GLT about 9 months ago, so am relatively new to Volvos. Has been a great car so far. Still seems real small, after my Suburban that I drove for almost 10 years and 225,000 miles.

The last long trip that I took, I noticed oil blowing out from around the oil filler cap, and it seems to be getting worse by the day. I have not seen any oil spots on the garage floor, and it seems to loose most of it on the highway. I am thinking crankcase ventilation, but it does not have a flame trap, so I am kind of in a quandry. Anybody have experience with this problem? It seems like it has to be related to pressure buildup in the crankcase--maybe a vent clogged or something like that?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone knows of good reference material on the net, I would be interested.

Thanks,
Michael
