Just bought a 2007 XC90 V8, I’ve been wanting one for years, this one just showed up at auction.
I worked at our local Ford dealer when the SHO Taurus was in production. Car was boring, engine was awesome. Then heard about Ford and Volvo working together on the XC series and Ford 500 and Freestyle. Great chassis and drive train design even though they had some bugs to work out.
when I heard about the 4.4 litre Yamaha V8 I was impressed, now that I own one I am further impressed. Cruises smoothly at 70+ mph. The mpg is because I was going downhill...
Yeah, it’s a cool machine. Needs a bit of work as it is a 14 year old car (bit of a valve cover leak, small dent, needs an upgrade to safely use a phone hands free, etc) but it is a cruisin machine!
I had to drive to Ontario 50 miles away by freeway and it cruised along at 85 like nothing; 2200 rpm, 20 mpg on the level, nice and stable though the tires are worn enough to only be good for summer.
It has all records included so I took it to the previous owners shop, they said ‘it has another 2000 miles before it needs an oil change, don’t worry about that leaky valve cover gasket, see you in a couple months’.
At a steady 65 on a level road it gets 28MPG on premium fuel....
