Default Newbie with a 99 Laser Blue V70R

Just picked up a 1999 V70R in laser blue. Needs a couple little things but is pretty solid. Has 233k miles on it, which doenst bother me, new timing belt, tensioner, and pump. Previous owner recently replaced the front cv axles and had the rear axle replaced due to it making noise. Car runs and drives great with plenty of power. Only issues im having is after owning it two days the heater core developed a very small leak and the fuel check valve doesnt appear to be working.
Well I watched a couple of videos online about the heater core replacement and doesnt look hard at all so I ordered a new core from rockauto and that should be here late this week.
Im a big gear head and was looking to get a great winter car, since my other cars are horrible in snow a corvette, built 99 z28 camaro, and 66 LeMans. Was looking around on craigslist and came across the 99 V70R for a steal of a price. The car drives great and only has a check engine light for Main catalyst efficency below threshold. Figure Ill find a deal on a high flow cat and replace the wore out one on it. Ill post up pics of it tomorrow and see what you guys think.

And the car already put up its first win again some kid in a civic with a fart can on it, not a big accomplishment but im sure the kid was embarrased lol

Cool, and welcome to the forum.

I'd be very careful with that heater core situation. My guess is that more than 1/2 of these cars see their death with heater core leaks. Loose the coolant and blow the motor.

Nice find with all 4 wheels still pulling.

I parked the volvo after finding the heater core leaking and ordered a new one. It came in today and took about 45 mins from start to finish to drain coolant, change heater core, discover a joint under the carpet lol, and refill system and test. All and all its a very easy job.
