Have been a long time fan of Nissans, but they didn't offer a large enough station wagon, which makes more sense right now.

So my wife and I finally decided on the Volvo V70 last week. It was between that and the Subaru Outback. The Subaru had a major problem with its head gasket, so I decided against it.

We purchased a 2001 model with 128K miles. Liked the dash and options on it compared to the 2000 model. Plus we could tell this car was better taken care of. Had history of all factory services performed. Only thing I notice is some times when in automatic mode it isn't quite sure whether to be in neutral or first gear. It kind of clunks when taking off. But when in manual mode (starting at 1) I do not see this. Will search the forums...

 

Welcome. Check to see if the software for the transmission has been updated. I know that has been a problem with these model years.

How much will this cost about? Do these cars have a separate ECU for the transmission? Have only heard of one for the engine which also monitors a few sensors in the transmission.
