No crank with my 98 Volvo V70
About a week ago while out shopping, I returned to my car to find the "Key left in the car signal" blaring. Before put my package into the car, I put my key into the ignition and removed it quickly, the noise faded away. After loading up my packages, I attempted to start the car, all the dash lights and headlights came on, but the starter didn't even click. I got a jump but it still didn't crank. I checked all fuses and relays, no problem; I manually jumped the starter with the key in the on position, and it started up right away. I thoroughly cleaned the battery cables at the starter, alternator and fuse box; still no sound from the starter when I attempted to start the car.
Over the past several days, I've taken the starter from one of my S70 that runs great, in attempt to rule out possible problems. Still nothing from the starter, just clicking from the console. After I put the starter from my V70 into the S70, the S70 started up. It seemed that all the fuses, relays and starter was in good working order.
I also noticed that the dome lights come on when I unlocked the driver side door, nor did the other doors. Not sure what to make of this.
I'm in need of some help.
Sorry about being long winded but I want to paint the whole picture, ruling out as much as I could.

It seems that you didn't receive any replies over a year and 9 Months. I have the same problem and would like to avoid having my '01 XC70 towed to a shop. For about 4 Months after I replaced both belts and most of what they drive, it ran good but I would have to use my jumper to start itor start it often without the jumper. I have put off replacing the battery. Usually no relay clicking when the jumper is attached but today only relay fast clicks and no crank. After that I didn't even get door chimes when the door was open. I will check and replace relays and check connections to the starter. I NEED HELP!
