Noobie Volvo Owner
How do...just a quickie to introduce myself. My wife and I just bought our first Volvo. it 's a 2023 XC60 AWD B5 Dark.
We've owned BMW's on/off for decades, so we're used to European auto styling. I've driven a couple of Volvos that belonged to friends, (newest one was from the "Boxy but Good" era...and back in the early 70's, a couple of the older "turtle" models...late-50's to mid-60's. I also drove several Volvo articulated dump trucks, operated Volvo loaders, and even drove a couple of Volvo trucks. (heavy over-the road)
More recently, I've been driving newer F-150 SuperCrew trucks. (last one was a 2019 F150 Lariat SC 4x4 with a 6-1/2' bed) We finally decided we're NOT going to get another RV, so having a full-size truck just doesn't make sense for us any more. (we're both retired and close to 70)
Anyway, the XC60 seems to be a nice rig. Considerably smaller (and tighter inside) than the F150, but so far, we're getting close to 30mpg average, which is kind of nice. (got almost 32mpg on the drive home from the dealership in Tacoma, the F150 never got more than 21 mpg...usually less than 19)
I'll probably pop in from time to time as questions/concerns come up.
