Default '22/'23 XC60 Recharge Polestar Engineered - Feedback/Reliability

First post - long time German car owner (Audi, MB, 3 BMW's), interested in the XC60 Recharge Polestar after seeing a V60 Recharge Polestar and being very impressed. Looking for feedback on the XC60 Recharge, in particular reliability, availability, performance, likes/dislikes. Noticing a lot of posts about their XC60 losing power overall and dashboard issues. Any feedback appreciated. Thanks.

The problems with the 2022 XC60s are pretty annoying and I’m glad I did a lease instead of spending $50,000+. However, they appear to be all software issues and/or related to certain modules (e.g. TCAM), so hopefully things get better overtime.

I’m a fan of the Android system and having the Google assistant for voice commands. The seats are very comfortable and it’s the first vehicle I’ve had where I can drive 9+ hours without being sore in the neck and back.

All that said, I’ve certainly debated returning the car to Volvo, but so far haven’t done so. When I’ve looked for other options, it’s hard to find any new car inventory right now.

Just my two cents. I bought a 2022 XC60 Recharge ER R-design last May. I’ve have also had mostly MBs for the last 20 years. This is our first Volvo. We wanted a PHEV. Ours cost $70,000 (we will get the $7500 credit which sealed the deal for me) and was the only 2022 left at our closest dealer. It had some options we didn’t need, $3200 sound system, $1000 wheels, but that’s the way it came. I had read all the online reviews which were almost unanimously positive (stupidly it never occurred to me to check the forums until after I bought it - you see where this is going). We have about 6,000 miles on it, mostly on some longer road trips (it’s performed fine), but at home we drive almost exclusively electric. The good: the car looks and drives great. I love the electric. It’s incredibly fast and smooth. It’s comfortable. I enjoy driving it. The bad: I don’t trust it, a first for me with many new cars I’ve bought over the last 45 years (too many). There are a number of technology shortcomings that may have dissuaded me if I’d known about them but none were mentioned in any articles or by our salesman and I never asked (I assumed, again stupidly, they’d be like or be upgrades to my latest MB - they’re not)), but I’m living with them. We’ve had two dealer visits both fixed with software updates. First was in one month, car wouldn’t start consistently. Second, we had trouble locking it and the computer screen went dark. Based on the forum complaints, I think we’ve been lucky so far. But we feel if we encounter another serious problem, we’ll be ready to trade it in, a beating notwithstanding. Cars need to work. We don’t want to be stranded. I took it in yesterday to my dealer to confirm a safety recall notice I got had in fact been fixed by my OTA 2.5 upgrade. It had been. I have a very nice, responsive service advisor but it’s clear they are swamped with vehicle technology problems they can only hope are addressed by the Volvo software engineers. Volvo seems to be letting these guys hang out to dry. My dealer has limited loaners so you need to schedule an appointment well in advance to get one (never a problem with my MB dealer). Bottom line is it’s a lovely car that I would not recommend until Volvo really gets its act together and when that might happen seems to be anyone’s guess. I’m only hoping ours continues to work without glitches but I’m not confident. For that reason, I wouldn’t get if I had it all to do over.

Thanks for the responses so far. Not very encouraging TBH. My last 3 BMW's (X5 and 2 X3 M40i's) have been flawless. Not a single problem, and reliability is very important to me. I've gotten to taking it for granted. Will continue reading any other responses but i'm concerned.
