Smile Planning for First Volvo!

Greetings! I posted this in XC90 but thought it might be better here. My Username is really SeattleStarGazer, but I accidentally misspelled it and can't figure out if there's a way to correct it!

Looks like a great group here. I am retiring in a few weeks and had planned for a long time to get a high-class 'dream' auto for my golden years. I want a 3-row and had been looking at the MB GL350, but the introduction of the T8 XC90 has really turned my head. Less $ by a little, and more features in a hybrid. I currently have a 2009 Buick Enclave, really nice but awful economy and at 110,000 miles, repairs are getting too frequent.

My needs/wants are to be able to carry a still-large family, as well as hauling my astronomy gear on week-long star parties. I also enjoy long driving trips across country. I'd like all the safety and comfort I can get and fuel economy would be important too. I try to keep a car 7-10 years at about 20,000 miles per year, so durability and reliability are important. I'm working with a dealer now to spec out a vehicle, then do a final financial assessment before going ahead with a target acquisition of next Spring.

I've never had a Volvo but have heard good things about them over the years. I'd appreciate any inputs or suggestions on my plan and how you think the new T8 would fit my dreams!

Wayne
