Just took delivery of my first Volvo, a 1996 850 N/A 5-speed wagon. Found it when looking for a daily driver for the coming winter.

I grinned like an idiot for the whole drive home. This car really takes me back.

Cool - 5 speeds are hard to come by. Enjoy!

Great find! 5 speed wagons are indeed tough to find.

Thanks all.

The previous owner was a Volvo fan. He seems to have already covered the major failure points, and he provided records to prove it. It does have a whine which he thinks may be a fuel pressure regulator. (Have to look into that. . .)

Cosmetically it is 20 years old, but it definitely passes the "1 foot per year" test. I have to treat a couple small rust spots to keep them from growing, and I'm hoping a good cleaner wax will make her look nice.

Feeling like a college kid again. . .

Good news about being a Volvo owner in New England is you can get next day delivery from some nearby Volvo friendly parts web sites!

Some years back I had an 850 sedan with a 5-speed. It was a great car, and never really gave me much trouble.
