Default radiator leak

Hello I have a 1988 740 GLE , great old girl...had a few blips this summer, all resolved, ie clutch, exhaust and speedo.....now we have the radiator to contend with. It's leaked for years and sealant solved the problem but am now having to top up coolant every day. Any advice? and don't tell me to get a new car please, this is an old friend. Thanks

Get a new radiator. About $150 for a Nissen, easy install...

personally I'm with Lev. Radiators are probably the last part I'd want to go used. The labor/time of replacing the radiator is the real cost. You can probably save $50-75 going used for a radiator and you will still have a 30 year old radiator that will likely leak at some point and you're back to having to do the work all over again. If you plan on keeping the car for as long as you can, get a new part.

Hello There, thanks for your reply.....I went and got a used radiator (1989) and in good nick.....so hopefullly it will go OK. It's hard to get radiators that fit that year here in the UK. Thanks though.
