i just recently bought an s70 glt 123,000 miles how ever it is stuck in winter mode it is intermittent sometimes it's stuck other times it's not.i looked at the transmission fluid it is the color of Georgia red mud. i took it to a mechanic to change the tranny fluid he said not to do it because thats probally whats holding the tranny together any suggestions.

 

From what I've learned as a recent Volvo owner whose done a lot searching lately, It most likely is one of the sensors or control modules for the transmission and not the actual transmission. Do a search for your problem for your specific model, you'll find answers there.

 

im hoping that's what it is a module a sensor but other than that the car rides smooth

 

my name is freakdee1 i have a volvo s70 glt i have replaced the alternator and new serpintine belt.the car was fine before i had this done after i had this done the car is leaking coolant from the passenger side. the water pump area BUT THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING HOT IF THE COOLANT GETS LOW.THE COOLANT LIGHT WILL COME ON BUT RUNS NORMALLY i have taken it a couple places they all say the water pump by my experince with water pumps the car would run hot right?
