S80 2.5t automatic
Hi, folks, I have a problem with my S80 I had an oil leak & a warning light up for ABS (Amber) took it to the local garage to get it checked out. They said no probs will do oil leak Replaced 2 Oil seals then take it to main deale for turning light off. The dealer has had the car 9 weeks. The light is still on and the engine is running rough, Like its misfiring Volvo told local guy change plugs but still the same.
When the oil seals were changed if the belt was not put back exactly right would this cause the rough running? Or would it not run at all?

sure if your cams are one tooth off the car will run, but poorly. not sure why the car would need to go to the dealer to get the ABS warning light turned off (or do you mean that the dealer will do the ABS diagnostics for why the light is on?) A good OBD2 code reader will display the ABS fault codes. Common to these cars is either speed sensors at the wheels or the ABS controller board has developed cracks in the solder joints. Google "midwest ABS" or "rocha-tek" to get some background symptoms and rebuilding the controller board. The dealer can certainly check the cam shaft timing for you as resetting the VVT gear when reinstalling the belt can be tricky.
