ABS Light +
Just got my first Volvo, a 1998 S70, and quite like it! Though my purchase was dubious, the guy I bought it from pulled 5 warning lights....no, I did not know until I tried to pass emissions and it failed... I still quite like the Volvo.
However, all that said, I was getting a ABS/Tracs light warning.... I pulled the module and tried fixing it. The Tracs light is now off but the ABS light is still on. It could be possible that I did not solder a section well, is there another ABS area I could look at? Is there another point on the car where the ABS could fail?
Thank you for your help! Replacing quite a bit on the car and hoping it will last me quite a while.

wow...I thought there might be quite a few people on a Volvo forum would know about ABS issues and add insight.
Interesting that this is getting less interest than a hipster fart at a pickle convention.
thanks all!

first thing you should have tried was to put a quarter between the ABS and the Pump or something just as thick,to see if that works.
a good place to read up:
Volvo ABS Problems
Common point of failure is the ABS module's circuit board but there are a few other things that can be at play - but it depends on what codes/warning lights you see. If you only get the ABS light, it could be the wheel sensor or the speed sensor - If you have access to a good code reader there should be a fault code stored (not all OBD2 readers can see the transmission CPU etc).

Pulled the module and drove without it for a few weeks. The Tracs light turned off but the ABS stayed on, makes sense for the ABS because the module was not connected but I am not sure why the Tracs light would turn off.
Put a new module on and the tracs light is still off but the ABS is still on. Maybe I will try to get to a good OBDII reader.

Have you been clearing the codes and the lights and codes are coming back? Or did you do some repairs on the module and then the TRACS light went off by itself?
If it is the latter, and you don't have a device to clear the codes, go to autozone and borrow one. Read the codes (and write any down) and then clear the DTC's. Drive it and see if the ABS light ever comes back on.
