Default Salutations from a newbie!

Hey All,

Just wanted to drop a quick a hello to everyone. I own a 1999 V70 GLT and I love this car! It currently has 158,000 miles on it and I'm looking forward to putting on a ton more miles!

Roll On!

Thanks! -

Hello,

I heard that that the 99-00 S70/V70 have many electrical problems like the ETM and the ABS modules. And also because that they are the first networked cars made by Volvo. But it seems to me that you are pretty happy with your car. I am looking to buy a S70 in the near future because I love the classic boxy Volvo design. I would like to get a 98 one but I would not rule out the 99-00 ones if I find a good one with low miles. But im still a little worried about some of the things I have read about them in the forums about the common electrical problems.

Hello Ahmed,

I had an issue with my ETM about 1 year ago. I had to shell out close to $750 to fix it. However, Volvo sent me a refund check and they reimbursed me the cost of the work. I was really happy about that. However, recently I have had other issues , engine fan had to be replaced and my alternator + battery were also replaced all within 2 weeks of each other. I hope I'm good for a little while. Best of luck.
