Hello im at my wits end, i have a 1998 v40 t4, the first problem is that it stalls at idle weather the car is hot or cold, the second and has always been a problem is that when boosting above 3000 rpm it splutters and drops power, sometimes i have to dip the clutch to build revs up, other times it goes fine, also if it does idle for more than a few seconds it then splutters when the throttle is applied. ive changed the air flow metre spark splugs and fuel filter. the code i get upis bank 1 lean, there are no air leaks and its got fuel presure, both lambdas are reading correctly as is the throttle body, temp sensors are fine too.

Sorry about the problem, that must be a PITA.

As I'm an 850 driver, I'm not privy to V40. Visit the V40 forum to receive accurate replies. I've been off the forum for a month and in the midst of catching up, so this reply will be short. If you do not find anything that is obvious, I can only suggest that you have the codes read at a local Volvo dealer.
