Default Sticky valve

Hi everyone. I’m to here. Not sure what to do. I do have a question. My 1990 Volvo240 wagon has a sticking valve are there an suggestions as to how or what needs done. Is it worth my money to get a new cam or just buy parts. I only paid 500 for this car. Perfect body. So solid. Any kind of suggestions with be appreciated. Thank you.

What does that mean? Is there no compression on a cylinder? Is there noise from a valve out of adjustment? Is there a broken valve spring? Do you know what a valve is and how it functions? Yes a cam pushes it open (and the spring closes it) , but a new cam will not fix a "sticking valve" (whatever that is )
