Hey guys!

My name is Gwen Thompson, I'm new here and am looking for something pretty specific. My car is a 1990 Volvo 240 DL Wagon and I bought her from a friend in 2011. She has been a sweet ride and I've enjoyed every minute of owning her. Unfortunately, she has finally hit the wall and has failed smog. It's sad to see this car go, as I've said it has been fun time owning her and while driving her I've met many folks who love these cars, who've come over to me to talk about her. Anyhow, long story short, I'm planning to surrender her in late March to the state, as I can no longer put money into her hoping she lasts me a few more years. As much as I love this car, I cannot say I'm an enthusiast. This saddens me and I've decided to post here in case there is someone who is an enthusiast and is searching for parts and/or body elements to a similar car. I plan to find the 240 forum and list all the deets, regarding what new work has been done on Swedi over the past few years. She drives smooth, is the quietest I've ever heard her, ironically, but just is no longer legal to drive, (registration tags expired in December). I'm driving her to and from work now, until I can find a used truck to be my new wheels. Anyhow, if anyone reading this knows of someone personally who loves the 240, feel free to point them in my direction. I can't salvage out parts so it would have to be someone willing to take her on. She can be driven away or towed. I can get $1500 from the state surrender program, but am willing to let her go to the right person for $1200. If you or someone you know wants to save Swedi from the compactor, I think it would be a great way to see her live on, even if its just parts of her.
