Hello. Last September I purchased a CPO 2021 Volvo XC60 T8 Inscription Recharge (plug-in hybrid). I was involved in an accident (not my fault) on Thanksgiving Day which resulted in the need for extensive repairs. It was undergoing repairs for 45 days. All seems fine now, except the Volvo Cars app is not finding my vehicle. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the vehicle's modem, as I am able to connect my iPhone to it automatically and access Apple Carplay enabling me to access Google Maps and other internet sites. A message on the home page of the Volvo Cars app is indicating that the vehicle is in standby and that I must start the vehicle manually to exit standby mode. This does nothing to correct the problem. The app is showing that my vehicle is still at the repair garage and the other info like level of charge, range of the combustion engine, etc. is frozen. I cannot start the vehicle or climate remotely using the app, but I can contact Volvo Support through the app. I have been told by Volvo Support that the telematics unit has gone to sleep as a result of its being offline for so long during repairs, and the only way to get it out of sleep mode is to bring it to a dealership. I would very much like to avoid this. Does anyone on this forum know how I canget the vehicle out of sleep mode on my own? I searched this forum for threads and posts on this subject, but couldn't find any. Thanks.

 

The implication of going to the dealer is that the reset / reprogramming needs to be done via the VIDA DICE tool. Unless you find a Volvo friendly shop that has a subscription to that tool, a trip to the dealer is in order. You may also want to reach out to the insurance company to make sure that they will cover any reprogramming fees as I think you can argue its part of the overall repair (since it was working prior to your accident).
