Any help is very much appreciated with this one. Went to shop today car was acting normal. I parked but fob would not eject from dash( message remove foot from brake) My foot was not on brake. tried pulling up on pedal still no luck. car started and stopped just could not take fob out of dash. Returned home and tried brakes, removed cap on reservoir to let pressure off. still no luck . After a few hours of running engine the fob came out but with no eject sound. key error came up on display. now I can start and stop car without fob in dash, Also remote locking no longer works. Anyone had any luck with a fix or work around on this. not good as car is parked on road. p.s I use a wheelchair but can still get grease and oil everywhere and crawl around an engine.

 

Usually that's caused by a bad ignition switch. The slot you put the key in with the push to start button. After replacement a software download will need to happen to make it work. That requires a VIDA subscription, at a dealer or large Volvo specialist.
