I just bought a '97 850 for my 17 year old Stepdaughter. She loves it!
I liked it initially, then had buyers remorse after finding some things I'd missed on my test drive ... Like the Odometer not working ... and electrical tape and a oil change reminder taped over the last 4 warning lights ... Doh! All I can say is that it's been several years since I shopped for a used car. That said, I'm pretty happy with it and this forum.

I'm currently working through an intermittent charging issue (I may address that in the service forum) and will replace the timing belt at my first opportunity (probably over winter break)

I just wanted to jump on here and say hi and a big thank you to all the knowledgable posters. Even though sometimes the discussions give varied methodology, they are all useful even though I ended up removing my alternator by a combination of all.

I've rediscovered the joy of working on a car that doesn't need to be running the next day.
