So I am now looking for my third volvo, either another 850 or V70/S70. My first Volvo I bought from a friend for $1500 as a second car for my wife to drive. I've been through 4 cars since then and her '93 850 is still running with about 210 mi. (odometer broke at 186k)on it!! That was over three years ago.... It's finally time to replace it bc the struts are shot, the oil pan is cracked, and it runs rougher than a Dodge. I actually made money on the car because I hit a deer with it the winter after I bought it and my insurance cut me a check for $3000. After purchasing new headlights for $200 a piece used and pounding the fender out and replacing a corner lamp I pocked the rest :-D

Used to be a huge Nissan fan but after the 850 did so well I bought a '98 V70 T5 wagon. Picked it up for $2200 usd because the seller said it wouldn't start.... guess what.. his face was priceless when I reset the security by locking and unlocking the door and she fired right up. Did a basic tune up (plugs, wires,filters, etc.) and fell in love with the car.

My wife and I have a 2 yr old son and of course love the safety of Volvo's. I hit the deer going 60mph and it felt like a pothole.... lol.
My name is Vince, I live in Buffalo, NY. We're actually north of some parts of Canada :-) I pretend to be a mechanic in my spare time, I'm a manager at Best Buy in real life. Not quite as knowledgeable as tech tho.... lol

Get a odometer gear to fix the odo. Very common problem.
