we are newbies and happy to be here
Hi all, just a few hours ago, we, my husband and I, acquired a 2006 Xc90 AWD, and boy am I happy we did. It drives like butter...smooth, and it is a dream to be in.
We did a lot of research, here in the states but also with a few knowledgeable Volvo techs from Sweden, and it all came down to that same conclusion, stay away from T6, they have had quite a few problems with those vehicles. I am glad we got some inside info on the subject and we are very happy with our purchase.
Glad to be a part of the forum.

RE: we are newbies and happy to be here
Thank you all so very much. I haven't been here for a few days, so sorry for the dealy. I am trying to come up with reasons to run errands, all because I love the car.
I might want to tell y'all what we came from. Less then a year ago, we bought a new Yukon XL, had it for 1 1/2 months then got a wild hair and decided we needed an Airstream traveltrailer, well, an Airstream can not be pulled (very well) by a Yukon XL, so we HAD to get a Ford Excursion 7.3 l diesel, huge....We kept the Airstream for all of three months, (didn't even take it out)then we decided to sell it. Left is this huge vehicle, and I am a stay at home mother with one child in school and one home with me. I begged and begged for a smaller vehicle, but my hubby loves the Excursion, then I finally got him to try a Volvo Xc90, and low and behold he fell in love with it. Finally, a year later, we got it.
I am swedish so we are very familiar with Volvo and its awesome reputation, but I have never driven one, only been a rider. Wow. Sold.
I will never go back to huge SUV, I might even go smaller one day, the C30 looks very cool.

Hello Petra and Ventura,
Delayed welcome from Far East.
Glad you've had inside info to stay away from the T6.
Be sure to take care of any recall items should they arise:

I too, try to find a reason to get out and go for a drive, except at the moment I'm stuck in Japan and do not even have a tricycle.
I hope we can be of some help.
