Default Where are the adjustable side bolsters?

Hey everyone! Ive been an auto enthusiast since the day i was born. I fell in live with volvo at the age of 13 and have always loved volvo for its uniqueness and rarity! But as i started getting more and more into volvos (especially R and R-design models) i noticed 1 thing in common with every single R model from year 1996 and up until 2014 the front seats never had adjustable side bolsters! Why is that? I would expect a s60R front seats to have adjustable side bolsters given they are very bucket like seats! Ive driven in multipe Bmws (not M) and mercedes (not AMG) and they all have adjustable bolsters! Can someone explain to me why volvo never added adjustable bolsters until 2014? Thank you!
