XC60 car wash problem

XC60 car wash problem
My wife just bought a 2011 XC60.
Each time she has had the car washed she was unable to put the car into drive at the end of the track without the car wash being shut off and applying the brake and then forcibly pulling the lever into drive
Any idea what is wrong
