Yet another new member!
Well, through a roundabout method I have just found this forum. You see, last week I bought my new (old) 1980 242GT. I purchased this car for C$800, with an extra set of original alloys wearing winter rubber and a set of steel wheels for an additional $300.
As you can guess by the price, the car has some problems. (can you say rust?) The rust is mostly taken care of now, but onward to the mechanical!
The car has some good points, too. The previous owner had the front clip replaced with an '83 European unit complete with Cibie glass aero headlamps He also had the car repainted in Porsche Silver and had the original GT stripes reproduced.
I am looking forward to the process of restoration, and to the advice I am sure to get here!
