Default t3/4 turbo

Anybody know of anywhere or anyhow that I can buy a T3/T4 turbo. VMS makes an adapter that will let me swap the stock for one of these...

Try a GOOGLE search and or Ebay.

I also highly suggest you stay away from VMS, people have had problems with their products in the past.

Like a cracked manifold.

You know when you upgrade to this turbo your going to have to redo your exhaust system. Not to mention an ECU upgrade.

Wait wait wait.

Do the ECU upgrade last. You wont take full advantage of the potential power if you don't.

1. Finish up STAGE ZERO.

2. Dyno you car stock with A/F ratios.

3. Do all your engine mods your going to do besides the ECU upgrade.

4. Dyno your car again with A/F ratios.

5. Send both dyno sheets with A/F ratios to your ECU tuner I suggest RICA. Let them create a custom setup for you that will take into effect your mods and you have to tell them what mods you have and what your dyno sheets say.

6. Dyno again with A/F ratios after the ECU upgrade.

Ok, now my next question...theres all these turbos. I have no idea from one turbo to another. Do you have any reference to which of those sites I should buy from and which model. I like the turbonetics hybrid one but again I'm not sure what I need for the s40. Also, do you know of anywhere else I can get that adapter that Terry from VMS is talking about if they arent good to buy from?

1. I know nothing of these t3/t4 turbos. I just know how to search for them, like any other turbo.

2. I would take to the companies and find out all the info on the turbos you can. Compressor maps etc... This will also help your ECU tuner if you can give them the compressor maps of the turbos. Talk to RICA if you go with RICA they can help you out as well possibly with what turbo to get.

3. No I don't know where else to get the flange. I am sure a local place could make you one if need be.

It's not on the website. Terry told me they offer it though, its a bolt on to the exhaust and then the new turbo bolts on to the adapter.

I would ask for pictures of it. If your blindly going into this, who knows what you will get.

Also how much is it?

You may want to look into this flange here, http://www.quickbrickmotorsports.com...html#t3_flange

That is made by Slater of QBM. Say it is for a T3/T4 and more. Price is nice too.

after much though and research, ive decided that once my warranty on my turbo goes up I am going to swap for a 14t. Im going to do the exhaust, then the turbo and then the ecu upgrade. I've been on s40concepts a lot lately, and they all talk about after doing turbo swaps about remapping the ecu..do you have any idea what they mean by that?

ok thanks...another question...I recently was having horrible shaking in my steering wheel and in the front end after going up to 50-60mph....dealership found a dent in my front rim and replaced the rim. But i still noticed that when im doing higher speeds that the car feels almost loose, i feel every little bump and the steering shakes the faster I go...could this have anything to do with front struts needing to be replaced?

What pump/injectors are you using with the T3/T4 setup?
What wastegate are you running?
Also, did you know that a GT35R will spool quicker and give you more power. It will cost significantly more, but it is a much better set up.

How do the s40 manifolds look. Are they anything like the 90+'s. WIth the little lip on the flange. If so pull the manifold take it to a machine shop have them flatten it and open it up for the t-3 flange of the turbo. Also i dont think you want a straight t3 t4 cause it will have a bunch of lag. So if you dont like lag then dont get it. Look for a t3 t04e or a 16g upgrade. Both have smaller hot sides for faster spools. I run a t70 on my 90 760 wagon and it makes full boost around 3500 and pulls like a tooth at the dentist. So post me a pic of the manifold if you can or pics of your car would be nice.
