I like my car, but I think 197 factory rated horsepower is a little pathetic for an inline 6 engine.

Although it's a non turbo, are there any bolt ons, modifications or computer upgrades you can do to these engines??? I'm willing to pretty much do anything as long as it doesn't mean getting into the internals of the engine.

What about nitrous? My engine has 132k miles, but if I kept the nitrous shot low like 75 or 50 hp would it be ok to do?

Well this is what I say. Sell the NA and get the T6 model. You will not gain much Hp from anything on a NA.

You can go an get a ECU upgrade maybe make an extra 10Hp and 10FT-LB's torque. You could make a CAI or short ram intake with a heatshield and gain or loose 2-3 Hp. Nitrous I wouldn't bother with. If your going to do Nitrous please do research before hand on how it works what is going on inside the engine when it is being used, etc... If you don't know Nitrous it can be a bad thing. I would use a dry shot too not a wetshot. And maybe a 50Hp shot too nothing too big.

You could get a 2.25 catabck system with a Flowmaster muffler and maybe gain 5Hp as well.

 

I'm in the same boat as you-I own a 2000 S80 2.9L non turbo as well. I got it preowned with 22,000 miles afew years ago;it's pushing about 60,000 miles now but still in good shape.After watching Fast and the Furious I and Tokyo Drift for the 20th time I've decided I want to go more fast and furious myself (sorry had to throw in the corky line). I've been doing some homework on superchargers as well as nitrous (granted I don't go fast but I like having that option). I'm also doing homework on a cool air intake system to help as well.
